There are no unpleasant side effects from hypnotherapy and it is a safe, relaxing, enjoyable experience where you remain in total control throughout.

The unconscious mind is so powerful that it controls our bodily functions, keeps our body temperature stable, our heart beating, tells us when to breathe, when to blink our eyes, when we are hungry, tired etc….

It is our memory bank where our core beliefs, habits and where all the images we have ever seen are stored. Although these may fade over time - everything we have ever seen, heard and felt is stored in our unconscious mind.

During hypnosis you remain fully in control; you are not asleep, you are actually in a state of heightened awareness. This is then the time where powerful suggestions for positive change can be given.

It is important to note that you cannot be hypnotised against your will and you cannot be forced to do anything that you do not want to do while under hypnosis. At any stage during the session you can simply break the trance by opening your eyes. It’s as simple as that.

The hypnotic state is often described as ‘trance’ - and of course we have all experienced trance like states outside of hypnotism; for example when you are watching a movie that you are really engrossed in and then someone talks to you and you haven’t heard them, or when reading a book, have you ever become so involved in the story that you have lost track of time? Another common example is when you are driving, have you ever arrived safely at your destination and not remembered the journey? This is exactly what a trance state is and it is this state that facilitates the potential for the extraordinary positive changes that you choose for your life, leading you to personal empowerment .

When you believe in the power of your unconscious mind you are taking the first step on the path to your desired future. Hypnotherapy when complemented with other therapies, particularly NLP, can effectively address a multitude of issues and problems.
